Richard Jung is the Principal Attorney at Jung & Associates, PLLC, a law firm focused on business and immigration matters.  Jung & Associates has successfully provided immigration services to everyone from families to multi-national corporations.  Prior to his law practice, Mr. Jung was one of the founders and former CEO of VIAS International, LLC.  With his partner, he grew the company from a start-up to a multi-million dollar enterprise providing solutions to the semiconductor industry worldwide with offices in Austin, Dallas, Portland and Shanghai, China.  For over ten years, Mr. Jung travelled the world from Germany to Malaysia and all points in between to work with the largest and most advanced manufacturers in the semiconductor industry.
 
Prior to his move to Austin, Mr. Jung was an appointee of the Mayor in the District of Columbia government.  He served as the Associate Director for Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs with a focus on preventing misunderstandings and violence between the African-American and Asian-American communities during the difficult aftermath of the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles.  Mr. Jung also worked with groups such as the national offices of the National Asian Pacific Islander American Bar Association (NAPABA), Japanese American Citizen's League (JACL), Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) to work to obtain protections and justice for the Asian Pacific Islander Americans through legislative lobbying and the courts.  He has also worked closely with The Korea Society and other organizations that promote cultural education and exchange.
 
Mr. Jung has been an invited speaker at Department of Justice events for the Executive Office for Immigration Review in Washington, DC and the then Immigration and Naturalization Service in Texas, and even served as a diversity trainer to the DC Police Department.
 
Mr. Jung is currently a Vice President for the Korean American Association of Greater Austin and a Board Member for the Network of Asian American Organizations.  He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association.  He is a former member of the Austin-Gwangmyoung Sister City Committee.  
 
Mr. Jung has a JD from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America and a BA in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
