Christy Penders serves as the Marketing Director at CAS Consulting & Services, Inc., a civil, transportation and environmental engineering company.

Christy has over 16 years experience in communications including as an award-winning television anchor and reporter, campaign spokesperson, marketing director, and public and media relations executive. 

After graduating from the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Communications, Christy moved to Abilene, TX, to start her television career working as the weekend sports anchor at the ABC affiliate, winning an Associated Press award for Best Texas Sports Feature.

In 1997, she was asked to become part of the NBC sports team in Austin, TX, as a reporter/producer, eventually moving into the weekend anchor chair. Her responsibilities included covering the Dallas Cowboys, the San Antonio Spurs, the Astros Spring Training, and all University of Texas sports including such notable moments as Ricky Williams’ Heisman Trophy run.

After six years in television, she made the move into public, media and community relations including working as a spokesperson for a heated local campaign and a PR executive at a Houston PR agency.
