Raymond Chan is the owner of Raymond Chan & Associates, Inc., a civil engineering consulting company established in 1989. Originally from Hong Kong, he came to the United States when he was 19 years old to attend the University of Texas at Austin. Little did he know that when he set foot in Austin in 1972, it would be the place where he would get married, raise a family and start an engineering consulting company. Mr. Chan was one of the founders of the Network of Asian American Organizations (NAAO) and served as the first president of the NAAO. Besides NAAO, he has also served as a board member for the Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce and the Asian American Resource Center Non-profit organization. For the community at large, he served on the City’s Charter Revision Commission and has also volunteered his time and served as a panelist on many public forums for small business owners and engineers. Currently, he is serving on the Mayor’s Community Cabinet.
