(Austin, TX) - The Network of Asian American Organizations (NAAO) and Mayor Lee Leffingwell are hosting the 2010 NAAO Induction Ceremony with a six course dinner, Wednesday, July 28th at 6 p.m. at Fortune Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Chinatown Center, 10901 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin 78753.
This event marks a significant milestone for the Asian American community as the NAAO Board of Directors and new Officers embark NAAO’s initiatives for expanding community services and starting capital campaigns for the opening of the Asian American Resource Center in the year 2012. This event serves to explore partnerships, develop plans, and help promote and preserve community values.
A number of city and state elected officials and Asian community leaders will be available for interviews and pictures, including Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Mayor ProTem Mike Martinez, City Councilmember Laura Morrison, State Representative Donna Howard, City Manager Marc Ott, Assistant City Manager Rudy Garza, Director of Austin Water Utility Greg Meszaros, Director of Watershed Protection Department Victoria Li, former Mayor of Austin Gus Garcia, among others.
